In this section

At Smallwood Primary School and Language Unit we understand that starting school is a very important time in your child’s life. Therefore we hope this information helps to make the process easier. We would like to invite any families interested in starting at Smallwood, to come and have a look around the school.
We operate school tours every Wednesday morning, between 9.30-10.30, throughout the autumn term, and at other times throughout the year on request. Please contact the school office on 020 8672 6024 to book your place. We look forward to showing you around.

Nursery Admissions

In Nursery we offer 70 part time places (35 per session). We offer 15 hours per week as our part-time offer which is made up of 5 half days. Our morning part time places run from 8.50 am to 11.50pm and our afternoon part-time places run from 12:30pm to 3:30pm.
Children are normally able to join the nursery class in the term following their third birthday.  We aim to offer children in nursery at least three terms of nursery education prior to entry into reception classes of a mainstream school.  Children who have turned three between 1st September and 31st December may be offered a place in the Nursery from the following January.
We follow the criteria for admissions as set out by the London Borough of Wandsworth in their booklet ‘Choosing a Nursery School in Wandsworth’, copies of which are available at the local library or can be accessed via the Wandsworth Council Admissions  website. As stipulated by Wandsworth, there is no automatic transfer from Nursery to Reception and parents are asked to reapply for Reception places.
To download an application form please click here. Please email completed application forms to or return to the school office.
Please note the closing date for Nursery applications is February 2019.
