Smallwood Primary School and
Language Unit

At Smallwood Primary School and Language Unit we understand that starting school is a very important time in your child’s life.

Therefore we hope this information helps to make the process easier.

We would like to invite any families interested in starting at Smallwood, to come and have a look around the school.

We operate school tours every Wednesday morning, between 9.30-10.30, throughout the autumn term, and at other times throughout the year on request. Please contact the school office on 020 8672 6024 to book your place. We look forward to showing you around.

Nursery Admissions

In Nursery we offer a mixture of part-time and full-time places with the option to use your child’s fifteen funded hours over either five mornings or afternoons; or two and a half days.

There is also the option to top up the fifteen funded hours with additional hours priced at £12.00 per session (£60.00 per week) when spaces are available.

Depending on the spaces available children are able to join the Nursery from the day of their third birthday.  We aim to offer children in nursery at least three terms of nursery education prior to entry into reception classes of a mainstream school.
We follow the criteria for admissions as set out by the London Borough of Wandsworth in their booklet ‘Choosing Early Education in Wandsworth’, copies of which are available at the local library or can be accessed via the Thrive Wandsworth website.

As stipulated by Wandsworth, there is no automatic transfer from Nursery to Reception and parents will need to reapply for Reception places.
